Art Direction/Photography
Inspired by a piece of brand work I was developing, I began exploring the intersection of photography and abstract painting through a personal series of images. Drawing on Rothko’s use of colour, light and spatial tension, I set out to create images entirely in-camera, using photography as a means of constructing rather than simply recording the image. The intention was to create work with an expressive, atmospheric and painterly quality, where colour, texture and light become the subject in their own right.
